slides on the long side? and would the crack be able to withstand the pressure of about 60 lbs of topsoil? (i need to put about 10" on soil substrate in it).

if looking at it with the long side in front, the top slides out towards you. i don't know if it would hold the substrate, it should. i could reinforce it with clear silicone.
