We are going to use some gokart drum brakes on a machine here at work (dont ask...) and they are going to be spinning 3600rpm. We want them to be balanced so that they dont vibrate but I'm not sure how to balance something like that. I would think that a part balancing service would be in high enough demand for it to exist; are there any machine shops that would do that sort of thing? Surely a shop that makes drive shafts and that sort of thing would have to balance their shit...? I called Don at D. Wyatt (our main goto guy when he's not busy with Square D work ) and he didnt have any ideas.

get a lawmmower blade balancer, and grind some off till it is level, but would check the max rpm on that frist, that shit ain designed to turn that fast

i figured any respectable machine shop would be able to

find a shop that specializes in engine internals and bottom end. they have the stuff to balance crankshafts and such

I think I'd go with the one you linked to, Bryan. The one thing I don't really like about the el cheapo blade balancers is that they don't really work that well, and they don't do crap for dynamic balancing.

i've used both, and the el cheapos do just fine, the other one costs around $100
