a student's grades?
i received a 89.95 in one of my classes. my teacher incorrectly entered it in tracks as a "B+". i contacted her and she told me she made a mistake and was going to change it to an "A-". how long should it take before i can notice the change in Tracs? 5/8/2006 6:39:59 AM |

That's not necessarily a mistake, but you would like to think professors would round up. I am in a similar situation. I had an 89.75, and got a B+. I doubt that will change. It was made clear from day 1 that there would be no curving or rounding up. 5/8/2006 6:54:24 AM |

I once had a 0 put in for my final exam grade, giving me an F for the class, even though I knew I had an A or A+. After finally getting in touch with him, it took about 3 days for it to show up on packtracks (but i just think that he was lazy). I don't see why it should take more than a day to show up if they change it that same day, just like when they input regular grades. 5/8/2006 7:27:36 AM |

They have to fill out a grade change request form that cites the reasons for the change, and it has to be approved by several people in the department. 5/8/2006 7:54:45 AM |

[Edited on May 8, 2006 at 9:41 AM. Reason : ^^ they dont round up in some of my classes cuz A- = A, so then they'd be double bumping you] 5/8/2006 9:41:07 AM |

It depends when the grade is changed. Since grades are still being entered, your professor and just go online, change the grade, and you'll see it when TRACS next updates. After the end of semester period, there's paperwork involved and it can take a few weeks. 5/8/2006 10:06:27 AM |

^Right but since he already received his grade, that means that all of the grades are already entered for the class, so all changes have to be done via paperwork through R&R. 5/8/2006 10:09:02 AM |

You can only change a grade on line if it's before 5:00 on the same day you entered it. After that, it has to be changed with the paper form. The form has to be signed off by a few people on the way to Registration and Records, but a change due to a clerical error is pretty routine. 5/8/2006 10:21:36 AM |

he probably does, seeing how his name and everything in his profile says he's a professor 5/8/2006 1:44:21 PM |

firegrl23 must be busy ... or she'd be all over this.
Once the form is at R&R ... probably a day or two. If you can hand-deliver the form to R&R, it'll make the process go that much quicker (and less chance of it getting lost). 5/8/2006 6:04:55 PM |

2 weeks after they tell you they filed the change with the dept. At least that's how long it took mine. Just don't ask your prof over and over, "when will my grade get posted" 5/8/2006 7:32:25 PM |
