Lancer ammo out of Erwin or Georgia Arms... They aren't cheap as far as quality goes, just bulk reloads that are less expensive than walmart. 5/9/2006 1:47:09 PM |

i found some reloads at Dick's sporting goods, it's $20 for 150rds. that's if u don't mind shooting lead rounds, not the greatest i'll prolly go back to fmj from walmart, 100rds for $20. 5/9/2006 4:12:30 PM |

yeah, your average price is $10 for 50, or $20 for 100 like its been said.
cheapest ive seen is $9.50 for 50 from Blazer Brass.

If you want cheap, reload yourself.
Press: $60 Dies: $25
1 lbs powder ($20) at a rate of about 7 grains per round will let you load 1000 rounds. 1000 FMJ Winchester bullets is $75 1000 primers is $17 Brass you saved from prior range trips: $0 Total material cost of 1000 rounds:$112 Total cost of equipment and materials: $197
Cost of 1000 store boughtrounds: $200 Savings after loading 1000 rounds: $3 Savings for every additional 1000 rounds: $88 The satisfaction of loading your own ammo taylored to your needs: priceless.
[Edited on May 9, 2006 at 11:05 PM. Reason : Buy powder in bulk and cheaper bullets and it will go down even more.] 5/9/2006 11:04:23 PM |

Either reload, or buy from SGN wheneever stuff is on special. Other option is guns plus in fayetnamm, they offer 'walmart buster' deals on handgun ammo, ammo and less per shot than walmart plus throw in a free ammo can with 500 rounds purchased.
If you reload, go ahead and buy a dillon square D if you plan to just do pistol. It costs all of $310 WITH your choice of pistol die set installed and factory preset. You can take it out of the box, set up the powder charge you want,. and go to town. A square deal type will do 400+ rounds an hour reloaded, if you want to reload rifle, go for a 550b , costs 380-390 but does NOT include a set of dies. As long as you have all your cases lined up and your primer tubes full, and plenty of bullets, you can easily do 500 rounds an hour on a 550, and can often do mroe than that once you get rolling. 5/10/2006 1:24:49 AM |

Try The Sportsmans Guide. They usually have canisters of ammunition. I believe their webpage is http://www.sportsmansguide.com Never ordered off the internet from them, but have from their catalog. 5/11/2006 9:52:46 AM |

Lawman's off tryon (1/4 mile past PDHSC, road on right before stoplight) usually has the best prices on quality ammo. They don't do reloads and stuff but WWB, Speer Lawman, Blazer, etc. are usually cheaper there than elsewhere in the Triangle. 3/18/2007 9:21:56 AM |

^ i'll have to check them out next time i'm home.
I bought a Sig P226 from them one time for $250. it was kinda ugly cosmetically, but it shot awesome. I ended up selling it for $325 and buying a 1911. I'd like to get a P229, though.
what's the best place to order ammo online? I need .45 acp, 7mm REM, and .22 WMR. the .45 is the highest priority, though, because I go through much more of it (nobody wants to shoot 200 rounds of 7mm REM in one sitting!)

Cheaper than Dirt and Sportsman's guide are both good.
FWIW, my choice for quality and relatively inexpensive .45 ammo is Black Hills which you can get from either of the above as well as Midway USA. 3/19/2007 1:53:39 PM |
