The fact that almost everyone would predict the same thing pretty much shows they're not unbiased.

Well, in the realm of bias, I think the list is something like this:
#1 that fucktard Bill O'Reilly
#2 Lou Dobbs (that lying uneducated bastard)
#3 Naji Sabri

anyone want to fill in the rest?

^^Because only conservatives/republicans can be bias.

They all are. That's why I don't watch them. Heck, it's even hard to watch any news at all. Most sources are bias and the local news is closer to entertainment tonight or E!. I'll just stick to making things up in my head, thanks.

There is a difference between the news reporting shows and the news analysis shows. Fox and every other network have both. O'reilly, Larry King, and Tucker are some examples of analysis shows. I think most of you forget that sometimes.

Do you have any absolute proof? If not, its your opinion, not a fact.

I thought stereotyping people was not something left wingers did? I would like to say that anyone who does notwatch Fox News is a DEMOCRAT/LIBERAL, and that all other news channels are bias. Hey if it works for your reasoning, it should work for mine, right?

I think foxnews gets a bad wrap for being a conservative because it is one of the few outlets that actually displays conservative thought as much as it does liberal thought. In the MSM, it is dominated by liberals. Therefore, if foxnews shows 20% more conservatives, they'll seem biased towards the right.

Yeah, I can totally see, though, how foxnews is the lapdog for conservatives since the owner just endorsed HIllary Clinton for president.

clialis, call him stupid. But don't give liberals a bad name by throwing around the word "redneck" and criticizing Fayetteville.

You wanna continue losing the South in presidential elections?

I mean, seriously, I'm starting to get the idea that liberals really don't want the Southern vote because they don't give a shit about the region and they really do think that Southerners are stupid.

Fucking bullshit.

First, he is hosting a fundraiser for Hillary's Senate run, not presidency. Also, he knows the Senate run is a winning cause, and wants to go to where the money is. In the case of the NY Senate race, the money goes to Hillary.

Now, as for your thought on conservative vs liberal thoughts, here's some of the balance you talk about.

Quote :
"Can we pray for the re-election of George Bush?"

-Sean Hannity

Quote :
"You want to have two guys making out in front of your 4-year-old? It's OK with them. A guy smoking a joint, blowing the smoke into your little kid's face? OK with them. And I'm not exaggerating here. This is exactly what the secular movement stands for. "

-Bill O'Reilly

Quote :
"But he certainly doesn't disguise the record on weapons of mass destruction. And you feel like saying to people, Just get over it."

-Brit Hume

Quote :
"Yes it is not great to hear that they're collecting our phone records, but it's a heck of a lot better than collecting our remains"

-Neil Cavuto

I could list more. How about Fox News contributors. Mike Gallagher went to Crawford, TX to protest Cindy Sheehan's protest, while reporting at the same time. How fair is that? Carl Cameron put fabricated quotes supposedly from John Kerry in a report, which was also on their website. How about last night, where Fox didn't even show the Democratic response to Bush's immigration plan. As Roger Ailes said:

Quote :
"Bias is not what you say; it's what you eliminate."

You have no proof, and chances are that you have been told this by other media outlets who hate fox news because of two reasons: the first abonorio has stated, and the second is that Fox News is killing them in ratings and they want more viewers. Since you think they are so bias, why dont you do something to prove it and dont just spout off something you hear from other left wing people. Why dont you watch fox news for a week, write down all the "bias" and present your findings in a thread each day.

Sorry, bigun20, this is one of those things that requires no evidence.

What I don't understand is why you feel the need to defend it.

Like, just because Fox News sucks balls, it doesn't mean you and your other conservative pals suck balls.

Don't get wrapped up in the bullshit, like Fox News somehow defines you.

Just let it go.

^ i think Bridget meant to say "needs no further evidence"

because theres already a shitbag full of evidence that Faux News is (1) blatantly biased for republicans, and (2) completely lacking in any sort of credible journalistic abilities

It's well known that Faux News "reporters" are partisan hacks who couldnt get a real journalism job to save their lives. they only got their job because they "knew that guy from church", or had phone sex with Bill O'Reilley

Y'see, the other networks at least have the courtesy to be quietly and covertly biased for republicans, where the decisions of what NOT to report are being made at the executive levels.

because the other networks also have the courtesy of staffing their rank and file with people who actually WENT to a real school of journalism, and who naively think they're actually doing some good service.

News, by nature is inclined to be at least slanted towards liberalism. The world is constantly changing, and a liberal stance towards coverage will provide consumers a better idea of what is going on.

^I don't hate Fox News. It's a conservative news outlet. As long as people understand that, I'm cool.

The people that love it know that it's a conservative news outlet. And when people bash it for being so conservative, those who love it get all upset because they don't like seeing things they love getting criticized.

eh? This statement would only make sense if the average consumer was slanted towards liberalism.

In truth, people better understand events if it is slanted to fit inside their existing world-view. As such, liberals watch liberal news not because liberal news is inherently better, but because it helps to have someone that thinks like you pre-screening the stories you really want to hear and explaining it in a way you will more easily understand.

For example, libertarians have begun watching Penn & Teller not simply because the shows are funny, they sometimes aren't funny at all, but because they enjoy hearing from others that share their world-view. To the best of my ability, I simply cannot understand most of Lou Dobbs TV segments, my world-view just doesn't include his bullshit. But Penn Jullet rings almost poetic, even when he is spouting probable bullshit of his own.
