I just threw a Seagate 250GB drive in an enclosure I had laying around...to use as a backup HDD for our office computer. Figured I would format the damn thing before I left the house.

Shows up in my hardware device manager, but not in My Computer.

But I also have 4 IDE devices already in this box...but that shouldn't matter, should it for a USB drive?

Thoughts on the matter? Do I need to pull this drive and pull one of my others and format in my box, directly connected to an EIDE controller?

Start->Control Panel->Admin Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management

Create a partition and format it.

This is a very quiet hard drive. Damn quiet.

I must buy more.
