I've recently noticed that my laptop is not picking up my SD card anymore. I first thought it was my digital camera having issues but tried to upload using my roomate's computer and docking station (we have the same computer)...it worked fine. Then I thought it might be my SD card, but it seems to work fine by itself on other computers. Also, my laptop recognizes there is a USB Mass Storage Device from the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon that appears...but I just don't have access to it??!
So I've concluded that its my laptop (HP Pavilion ZE4805). Any help? Any suggestions? The only change I've made recently to my laptop was to upgrade to XP Pro from XP home.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Its just really annoying more than anything! 5/26/2006 7:23:13 PM |

Go to the control panel...then administrative tools..then computer management..look under disk management and you may find the device listed there trying to use a drive letter that is being used by another device. Change the drive letter to another letter not being used otherwise and you should be able to access it. 5/26/2006 9:25:29 PM |

Thanks guys for the help. Unfortunately I'm still not having success...
I tried updating drivers and I already have all the latest versions. I've also tried to go through computer management but for anything, but that doesn't even pick up the SD card.
So far, its not purely just my USB drive not working b/c its fine when I plug in a mouse to it, but it seems exclusive for storage devices.
Any other suggestions?!
Thanks again, Jon 5/27/2006 11:05:12 PM |
