because we need someone in congress who:

- makes up stuff about his opponent's religious values
- says his opponent is gay because he doesnt have kids, even though his wife cant give birth
- insults his opponent for not being in vietnam, even though he turned 18 towards the end of major combat ops.
- calls the 93rd most liberal democrat an "ultra-liberal"
- wants to shut down the borders and kick out dirty mexicans
- hates homosexuals
- insinuates that his opponent is a dirty red socialist because he attended a college in britain at one point (hello? logic?)
- thinks "equal rights" means "special rights"
- basically just makes up stuff about his opponent to put himself over

of course, he'll appease all the far-right puritans with his unabashedly pro-life, anti-gay, anti-anyone-but-the-US, anti-global, pro-"ten commandments at the schools" stance.

i mean, he has one appealing plank: cutting gov. wase (why yes, Waluigi is actually fiscally moderate!)

I mean, seriously. I might actually give money to Brad Miller just to keep this clown out of office. give him a user name for tww, he'd make a great troll.

He's an embarassment...

Does anyone know if he moved from his previous Congressional District? He ran during the last cycle in the 5th District. I know that WS is divided, but I'm not sure what side he's from...

no, he hasn't moved and is not actually in the 13th District.

he's doing like Jim Snyder, running it whatever district he thinks he can win.

he's from outside the district, supposedly. i dont know the exact lines, tho.

i like how whenever anyone urges the gop not to back such a classless individual, he blames the opposition on some kind of unseen far-left elements.

i feel sorry for people drinking this kool-aid.

i was debating how i should get involved in the 06 elections, as in who to put a good use of my time behind.

and after reading yesterdays article (i've been following Robinson's primary) it all kinda came to a head.
i'm going to go out and volunteer for brad miller to make sure this retard of all political hacks wont even come close in november.

This sounds like the perfect place to insert a libetarian. He has to have a good showing (even if it basically guarantees a democratic victory, which, incidentally in this case wouldn't be bad, even by my standards)

I agree Robinson is pretty suspect. But let's not place a halo on Miller just yet. Robinson might have moved into the district to run, but Miller helped create and gerry-rig the district in which he would go on to win. This shows his corruption.

Miller, a former personal injury lawyer, used divorce records against a past opponent. So he is not above smarmy campaign tactics. Politics is a dirty game, and Miller wallows in the mud with the best of them.

His voting record suggests a typical big government tax and spender. Just what we don't need more of. His votes have also been anti-gun, anti-UN reform, and anti-domestic oil-drilling.

Looks like we have another case of "whoever you choose, you lose"

Homophobic...this word has really taken on a meaning of its own. If you don't support homosexuality then you must, like, fear them or something, or OMG, you might be ghey!1!!

What do you mean, exactly, by red-baiting? Did Vernon call him a communist?

Religious zealot...OMG, he believes in God!@1!! What a horrible thing!

It looks like you're doing some baiting of your own there, joe.

That's a dicey assumption there. A lot of people are pretty upset over Washington's lack of willpower in enforcing immigration law. Robinson could ride this immigration issue right into office.

Just to clarify in case there was any confusion -- Robinson didn't move at all. He's not in 13th district

Congressional candidates do not have to be residents of the district to which they seek election.

1. he said that since Miller attended graduate school in London, he was probably "a european socialist", or something like that. That's a stupid claim, and you know it, whether you hate Europe or not. Among the "Most Liberal Members of Congress", Miller came in 93rd.

2. Brad Miller teaches Sunday school at Church of the Good Shepherd in Raleigh. Vernon Robinson made up something about him trying to rid the US of Christianity, or something like that. What he was referring to (I assume) was the fact that he doesnt support putting the 10 commandments on public grounds, pushing through a marriage amendment, and banning all abortions, a major plank for his campaign. Now, personally I dont see either as issues that should drive an election, as both give preferential treatment to a religious stance, which should be avoided. He also insinuated that Miller might be gay, based on no evidence whatsoever. Would a devout man go and make up stuff about his opponent like that?

I don't know about Miller's past campaign actions, but which is worse: the usual "this candidate made bad policies" junk, or "this man might be gay and he is out to do terrible things that i cant prove"

The only one who has insinuated that Miller was gay is Miller. I don't see where pointing out the fact that Miller doesn't have any kids is anymore relevent than pointing out that your opponent has been divorced.

I may not agree with everything Robinson is saying, but he will vote more often than not for the issues I care about, and therefore he's getting my vote.

It is almost always considered a NO NO to ask someone why they don't have kids or if they plan on having any.

I don't like to hear about newlyweds get accosted by family, "When you gonna have kids? When's the baby coming?"

'I dunno, mom, maybe when my wife stops miscarrying, you dumb fuck."

^^^ Haha, his soul mate. That's more of an insinuation about Miller's kook views and not so much about his lifestyle, although the title is quite amusing.

^ Yeah, bringing up irrevelent stuff like not having kids is in poor taste, although Miller has a history of it as well. If anything, this will be the most fun race to watch.

Don't know much about this guy, but his ads are hilarious. What's funnier is the reaction of the humorless democrats & RINOs.

As far as Brad Miller not being a socialist: The American Conservative Union gives him a 5. Left of Charles Schumer and Cynthia McKinney! It would be foolish for his opponent to ignore this and run a "positive" campaign.

Robinson is playing by Miller's rules.

I love the double standard here. Liberals can bash, call names, spout insinuations off as if they were fact, but by golly, let a Republican return the favor, and all of a sudden we should all be shocked and mad.

Give me a break.

Here's an interesting link with regards to Miller and the charges levied against him:

http://www.newsobserver.com/102/story/444944.html

Quote :
"CHARGE: "Brad decided to distract and deceive the voters by making up heinous lies about his opponents and spewing vicious hate speech."

FACTS: In a 2002 TV ad, Miller did accuse his opponent, Carolyn Grant, of using $40,000 from her son's college fund to buy herself a new car. The accusation came from divorce papers. Grant sued, and Judge Howard Manning called the accusations "negative character assassination." Grant dropped the suit this year.

CHARGE: "Brad Miller has compiled a loony-liberal voting record that is radical, fringe, extreme and far outside of the mainstream."

FACTS: Miller was the 91st most liberal member of the U.S. House in 2005, according to the nonpartisan National Journal. That made him the third most liberal North Carolina House member, following Mel Watt and David Price."

Miller is a filthy campaigner. He's also a liberal who blogs on the largest leftist blog in the US, the Daily Koz, not to mention that he's the 3rd most liberal (it's like picking which is worse - a tornado, flash flood or earthquake) congressman from NC, only being outdone by Mel Watt and David Price.

But he's not a leftist, is he PinkandBlack? To you I bet that makes him a center-right candidate.

you dont even read what you post, do you? this disproves everything you just said. 91st in the House, which, contrary to your believe, is not full of socialists, communists, and far leftists. otherwise, how the hell would they get elected? OMG DAVID PRICE OPPOSED THE WAR, HE MUST BE UNDER COMINTERN CONTROL.

do you live under a rock? i dont even live in this district, i could give two craps about miller. but you need to stop acting like robinson is justified in being a massive troll. so what has miller said about robinson?

Youre just a massive GOP apologist. like i said, i could care less about miller. im a social liberal and fiscal moderate, i vote based on who fits my views , not whose in a certain party. im most opposed to people like robinson over their immigration views and their attempt to force their far right social agenda on the populace of America at-large, a populace that doesnt anywhere near fully support his social policy.
