So I installed FC5 today on a computer at NCSU. DHCP is not working correctly is about all I can tell. I put in a some DNS servers manually, but still nothing. I can activate it the device, but no connection. This is on an old lab computer so I am unsure as to whether it is part of resnet or not. Thanks for any help. 6/2/2006 11:29:57 AM |

So is it yours? What building is it in? If it's in a residential building like tucker/owen/etc, call ITD or ComTech about the port being inactive. Otherwise talk to whoever does IT support for that building/department.6/2/2006 7:38:49 PM |

With the exception of the dorms, the IPs have to be manually assigned to a MAC address matching the machine in question by the departmental IT coordinator. 6/2/2006 9:10:51 PM |

well it was originally set up to work, but the guy with all the usernames left town and no one could get root access so I had to wipe it. Is there an easy way to figure out what IP was assigned before or should I just try to figure out who IT for EB1 is? 6/4/2006 12:35:10 PM |
