I bought a 19" Dell 1905FP monitor about a year ago, but it started crapping out by the end of the day that I got the monitor. It suddenly blacked out, even though the power light stayed on. I turned the monitor off, waited 10 seconds, and turned it on again. The screen would come on for 2 seconds, then go to a power-saving mode again. Any time I tried to turn on the monitor, that's what would happen. After calling Dell, they sent me a replacement monitor which has worked fine ever since.
I still have the broken monitor. I sent Dell an email asking if I needed to send the original monitor in, and never received a response. How easy are the monitors to fix? I'm assuming it must not be that easy, if Dell was willing to immediately send me a new one, and didn't even want the old one back. I just didn't know if there was some way I could spend $50 or $100, fix the original monitor, and hook myself up with a dual monitor setup. Is there any way for me to do this, or should I just get the thing recycled? 6/2/2006 6:03:01 PM |
