Q1:

I just backed up my hard drive and noticed that one of the music folders was not backed up. And I have already deleted a lot of the music from my comp, including that folder.

I do have all the music on my iPod. I know the iPod can be formatted for disk use, but I haven't done that. Is it possible to transfer music from an iPod to computer? Or is it stored differently on the iPod, and so even if there was a way to transfer it to computer, it would be useless?

Q2:

Also, using iPod as a music player and using it to transfer files in disk mode, are these functions mutually exclusive? If I format it for disk use, would all the music go? And does formatting for disk use make it a disk permanently, i.e., no more music player? Yeah, silly questions I know...

Thanks.

2) Just format it like a music player, so with 0 songs it's still a perfectly functional portable hard drive.
