How about when you click the icon to enter an image, there is also a way to enter photos from your gallery. For example when you clicked it, it would open up the thumbnails of your gallery, and you just check what to instert. It would be easier than going to your gallery, opening the fullsize pic, and copying the url, then coming back to insert it.

All pictures, thumbnail and full size, should have a link that copies the full size image location into clipboard. A lot of the time you go to the photo gallery is to get the image location of a picture to post...

I think dijital has a very good idea. I think however, that you should also be able to see thumbnails from other peoples galleries besides your own. I realize that they could remove the pic from their gallery and render your post pictureless, but this would be a rare occurance.
