^ You saw a bunch of his old tests without answers, unless you were EXTREMELY lucky, but I doubt you paid much attention.
I just got done taking this SSI distance ed. Not a tough class at all. The 3 commentaries require the most thought; he doesn't kid around w/ those. He wants a deep, lengthy, and well-cited commentary. He also wants you to reply to a few commentaries for bonus points. (do this!)
The only other part of your grade is a midterm, a final exam, and either two 8-page papers or one long 16-page paper. I chose the 16-pager since I felt like doing it once & getting it over with. To this day I don't know what I made on the paper, I just know I got an "S" in the class as I took it credit only. I probably wrote a "B" paper, I'd guess.
I got an 80 on the midterm and a 77 on the final *without ever reading a single word of required reading for this course*. Why did I do this? Because I took it credit only. I wouldn't recommend this for those trying to get an A. The tests killed me b/c since it was "open everything" I spent the whole time on google struggling to find answers and amazingly got an 80 & 77 like that. What this does tell you is this is a great "credit only" course, for sure. Just be real strong on the commentaries and it'll improve his image of you a lot, and take note of how he likes his commentaries constructed (he'll comment on the first few, listen to his critique). 7/1/2006 9:15:09 AM |
