I use to work at an upholstery place. I was in charge of tearing down the furniture though, not recovering it. It's kinda complicated with the measurements, etc. Most people who do it have been doing it for years because it's one of those things you really have to learn over years. I recall it being pretty expensive as well, because you have to pay for the labor as well as the new cloth. A couch would be over $200 probably. Might want to consider getting a new couch unless you are really attached to this one.
