i'd imagine if you are doing a double EE/CSC then you probably will almost automatically get the CPE - maybe 1 or 2 more classes

And the only winner from the U.S.A. IIRC.

Nah, they did all of this in a semester. You'll be ready for senior design once you hit it. You want something over your head, sign up the programming competition they do every year.

Actually they have been working on the ray-tracer stuff off and on over the past 6 years. I know that Bill Culverhouse did a significant piece of work on the ray-tracer.

I think it has been in a state where no one has looked at it for the last 2 years or so and I'm sure whatever the team did was a new application built on top of the ray-tracer. Anyway, the point stands - they had at least 6 semester's worth of work to build on. Some of those semesters were spent on non-ray-tracer related educational games and websites though.

Not to detract from the team's success, just spreading the credit a bit. Good job guys.

I'm still pretty fucking impressed that this was an undergrad project.

I mean, I was pretty fucking pleased with myself when I got my "photoshop super-lite" program working that would let you draw lines and circles and save it as a postscript file.

I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate coding and after CSC 311, i never wrote a line of code again. That was my greatest accomplishment as a CSC major in my opinion.
