Fallout 1 had a superior plot / ending and came first. Fallout 2 had a lot better NPC interface, more extensive side quests and more things to do.
I'm trying to decide which one I want to replay. Fallout 1 did seem a little simplistic in retrospect but I haven't played it in a few years. 7/13/2006 11:51:20 AM |

i liked 2 better because there was no time limit
for a game with so much to do, i prefered to go anywhere and do anything without worrying about the main quest 7/14/2006 1:04:55 AM |

I went with 2. doing the new reno family quests now. I turned the combat and overall game difficulty up all the way and it's a lot harder than I remember. basically have to avoid all unnecessary combat until I get some quality armor and at least a combat shotgun. I have rediscovered my hatred for sulik. 7/14/2006 10:56:43 PM |

The are really the same game overall, but F2 has about double the content to explore.
F2 is my second favorite game of all time, only behind RE4 12/12/2013 7:36:37 PM |

I found out about these in the ten dollar double pack at target back in high school. I can't tell you how many hours I spent playing those two games, probably my favorite PC games ever with a possible exception for the early doom series. 12/12/2013 8:21:29 PM |

I don't know how anyone can say 1>2
sure, 1 was the one that started it all. but 2 was the immensely better game and story. 12/12/2013 10:26:30 PM |

Anyone on a Mac get Fallout 1 to work? I got 2 to work fine but 1 says the file was damage when I try to run it (after moving to applications). I mainly want to play 2 but I want to nostalg out on 1 first. 12/13/2013 9:02:47 AM |

A few tips for people who are playing the originals for the first time and don't want the game to be balls hard:
- Take 10 agility - Don't take throwing - Gifted is by far the best trait, but it's almost like cheating so you can decide whether to take it or not. The only downside it fewer skill points per turn, but you can offset that by adding a couple extra points to INT, then the trait is basically 4 or 5 free ability points. 12/13/2013 8:12:10 PM |

Shit! Could someone d/l them and burn them on a CD/DVD for me? I can provide a mailing address for the cd/dvd or pick it up locally some time. There's 11 hours left and I'm stuck at work. I thought I'd have until tomorrow to D/L them
