He's fairly new new had him for grad level algorithms. Fairly thick german accent but not to the point of making communication very difficult. I've had better and I've had worse. Worst thing is he has real trouble ending class on time and he also likes to give these fairly involved quizes with only 10 minutes left in class. They weren't particularly hard per se but you could get tripped up with the time issue.I would seriously consider going with Bahler or Tharpe though since I took Bahler and he is pretty good, and Tharpe was of course just recently the head of the department.

^^did you have him for csc 411? cause I've heard that he's a bad instructor but I really wanted to take AI.

^I had Bahler for csc 411 and he was just awful. Many of my classmates agreed.

^ I thought he was a little dry sure but material was covered alright and there was no drama or anything hes not in the upper echellon or anything but like I said I've had worse. Dr. Lester is really cool and hes an AI guy but watch out for those tests, for 316 we had 13 page tests in 50 minute class periods

damn ^ 13 page tests? Either way, I switched to Bahler's section so we'll see how it goes.

i had bahler for that class and agree. he's a bit monotone, but he covers everything and seemed fair/lenient while grading.

Lester in 316 for the win. That said yes the tests were long, but at least when I had him he recognized that and it was dealt with with a curve.

Im afraid I have no choice considering my work schedule, so I will be in EEP Senior Design from 220-3ish and then I have Heber for 316 right after that....Just need to get those C- so that I can finally graduate... well, at least be a few classes closer
