i'm bored with my music as of lately, any suggestions? i like all kinds, but mostly fairly upbeat to keep my pace with while i'm doing cardio. a good mix of house/dance/pop (the usual shit from clubs, i haven't been out in so long i have no idea what's new), industrial perhaps (i LOVE NIN), happy upbeat kinda crap like the postal service... any suggestions?

and NO, that is not what i listen to all the time, because i know someone's going to make some retarded-ass comment. i just need some upbeat stuff for the gym.

oh and also some kind of slow, heavy stuff for weights/strength training background noise would be good too, ideally something along the tempo/sound of metallica's hero of the day, that is one of my favorites for lifting weights.

Hero of the Day isnt all that 'heavy' IMO, but I've been listening to Dragonforce, As I Lay Dying, Blind Guardian, Trivium, and In Flames at the gym lately. They may be too heavy for you, but it works for me.

yeah i know metallica is not heavy, actually anything after the black album was pretty lame... but what i mean is that tempo as far as the music goes, i like to keep at that pace (the slow part). i actually do have pretty decent taste as far as music goes, but that happened to be in my head the other day, so i downloaded it *fuck you lars, i bought the cd when i was like, 13* and it worked out pretty well.

cornelius is allright, but i got burnt out on a few of his songs i had on repeat for a while.

and i will go to the gym as much as i damn please, it's my favorite thing to do. keeps me out of trouble. i do spend a LOT of time there but it makes me feel good inside and out.

My workout playlist is kind of all over the place.

I've got old Offspring, old Korn, old Rage against the Machine...House of Pain, old DMX, Eminem (way I am), Onyx, Outkast (BOB), some System of the Down, a little POD, and even some Linkin Park songs. About 75% of the stuff I wouldn't listen to outside of the gym...but I like stuff that is a little less than screaming and head banging...but still up-tempo and keeps my blood flowing.

^Terrible...
It seems that EVERYONE listens to shitty music when they work out.

E-Dawg's suggestion of m83 is good. It is also good to listen to if you're all kinds of fucked up on hallucination-inducing drugs.

Ronny's girth and unshavenness might be a boon in the indie department, but I'm not sure I'd take his advice on anything even tangentially related to workouts

The great thing about listening to music when you're working out is that you're listening to your own music.
I like the music I work out to. That would be WHY I work out to that music.

james brown - "the old landmark", off of the blues brothers soundtrack.

as strange as it may sound, this came on shuffle one time while i was running and i just kept going faster and faster. then i started doing backflips and seeing "the light". now i'm gonna get the band back together...

oh yeah, and i second Journey. "don't stop believin'" will get you blazin' the road up.
