eek i live in cobb - just got on a project that lasts till december and it's in duluth

a major reason i have liked atlanta so far is that i haven't had to drive in the traffic - there goes that - on the plus side it only took 45min. to go 29 miles this morning - i'm hoping that wasn't a fluke

haha, I might be getting an offer i cant refuse in duluth... I had been driving from Buckhead to Smyrna, now it would be Buckhead to Duluth. Thank god i would still be going against traffic for the most part

i'm (hopefully) looking at buckhead to suwannee soon. since i've been here i've had at worst a 15 minute commute to work by car, 30 minutes by bike. i may have to consider moving to gwinnet.

hopefully the money will make up for it.

i don't know how people do it long term - i know i couldn't - i already complained on day 1

my wife's drive is 8-9 miles and sometimes it takes her 30-45min.

I really like Duluth a lot... We've got some family friends that live up there in some really nice areas. The only downfall is that a lot of the golf courses are $$$, even if you play with a member

^ yeah, the new place that might offer me a job is right across from Sugar Loaf for now... they are moving downtown next year, apparently Duluth is putting a lot into kicking up their downtown a lot.

^^^ where are you in Buckhead?

I don't know too much about Sugarloaf.... I'm usually on 141, near Old Alabama Rd and Pleasant Hill Rd.

Anyone try Stats yet? new bar near Georgia Dome, you have your own taps at your table, you pour your own and pay by the ounce

is the tap hooked up to a computer or something? how do they know how much you have poured? what are the price ranges per ounce?

drove by it this weekend when i was down at centennial park with the fam. and saw it but didn't stop - if i remember correctly it's on the edge of a shitty part of downtown

^^ yeah, keeps track. Apparently you have numerous taps at your table, your party gets to pick two that they want "active" and you just pour your own.

25 cents to 37 cents an ounce, so the cheapest is $3 for a 12 oz, not bad for not having to tip as much and wait on them

http://www.statsatl.com/home.php
Quote :
"It's a beer lover's dream come true: a tap right at the table, with on-demand lager.

No sitting around trying to flag a waitress for a refill. Just put your glass under the tap and milk it for all it's worth.

There's just one catch.

You're drinking on the meter and when the table hits the limit, the flow stops. At least temporarily.

Stats, a new downtown sports bar, spent $110,000 to install the system. The Table Tap technology lets guests serve themselves once waitresses check identifications and turn on a meter. The taps connect to 16 kegs in a basement cooler, and guests can pick which two they want hooked up at the table.

The meters tick away suds by the ounce, with prices ranging from 25 cents to 37 cents. That amounts to $4 a pint for the least expensive beer.

When the table hits 180 ounces, the taps stop pouring until a server checks over the table.

At 180 ounces a table, that works out to 1 pint for 12 guests. Smaller groups could dream about sloshing over to Philips Arena, just a few hundred feet away."

i think it's definitely worth going....it's mostly on friday that all the college kids show up and are drunk and annoying. i usually only go on wednesdays or thursdays to avoid them, and it seems to me like the crowd on those days is of the young professional type...

i know, it's going to be sooo cold there tonight, but i haven't been in forever!
