NEVER and I emphasize NEVER rent from University Apts. No matter how cheap they advertise to you do not sign a lease with them... I can not begin to explain or list the shit they have done to us. We are getting out of our lease early... moving in 2 weeks.

not sure if this is the right place to put this but I wanted to let everyone know that esp those of you looking for new places in Aug for the school term... steer clear.

lets see... where to start...

The apartment we were in was flooded during all that Rain on June 14th... thats 2 feet of water standing in the downstairs part of our townhouse. They didn't bother to tell us that the reason these apartment hadn't been rented in a while is because they had been flooded three times prior to this time. Thier idea of revamping the apartment intells laying the carpet out on the asphalt to dry, pulling the carpet padding out and disposing of it, leaving drywall and insulation to develop mold all within the walls, airing out the apartment with two window fans, then replacing the carpet back down with all the bacteria and mold from the flood that was sitting and absorbing into it.

The last time this happened they did the same thing and is thus the reason my roommate took several visits to the hospital in the past 6 months and has missed more work than I can count from being sick with allergic reactions... she is allergic to penisilun (sp.?) which is found all in mold ( it is a mold). I have also been sick just not bad enough to go to the hospital from breathing it.

My roommates Identity was stolen about 4 months ago and we had the guy arrested... he lives in 706 Ryan Court... right down the street from us. He has been in Jail but was released on bond and is still living on the property and is often seen out on the picnic tables by the pool. He has kicked our door in once about a week after he was arrested.

Back to the flood issues. We had about $4500 in damages from the flood which wouldn't have been covered with renter's insurance even with flood added. However they violated the disclosure act by telling us that there was nothing wrong with the property and there had been no flood damage to it. They moved us into Centinnial townhomes across the street. Their movers drug our furniture out of the old apartment and onto their trucks, ruining what hadn't been damaged by the water. They are currently charging us more rent (its a more expensive apartment) at the new apartment, have not responded to any of the complaints about bugs in the apartment... we are infested with ants... they are living in the carpet and if you stand in one spot for more than 2 seconds they are crawling up and down your legs bitting you along the way.

Not to mention their is no privacy. When they fulfil a work order... whenever that happens... they are unlocking your door as they are knocking so don't be caught coming out of the shower with one of them standing in your bedroom.

So yeh ... don't rent from them... you will regret it. Trust me.
