Early on day 1 a lot of the Big names are near the top of the Leaderboard. This could make for an exciting weekend.

Sergio's a bit of a surprise.
He has plenty of time to fuck it up in typical Sergio fashion, I suppose. 7/20/2006 9:24:37 AM |

I've read that it will. The greens keeper was quoted saying that -18 would be the winning score. They say this course is playing pretty easy (compaired to the US Open)...mainly b/c they haven't had ran in a long time and everyone can hit a 5 iron 300 yards...its like playing on concrete.
Also:
Tiger +1 thru 1

Usefull shot laddie!
This is not how an Open should be played.
Even par should win, this week it will barely make the cut. 7/20/2006 12:12:55 PM |

Petterson -4 F Clark -2 thru 10
not a bad start for the NCSU golfers. Petterson is tied for 7th.
Just noticed that Petterson was 6-under on the back nine. If he hadn't double bogied #2 he would be tied for the lead.
If 6 under is possible on the back nine there could be some serious runs come Sunday afternoon.

i'm sure I'll see it on SportsCenter, but how did Tiger eagle hole 14, a 456 yard par 4? 7/21/2006 12:52:39 PM |
SebaZ Veteran 475 Posts user info edit post |
Tiger must've used his driver.. I heard 14 is the only hole he used a driver yesterday, and he drove the green and made the putt.. most likely. 7/21/2006 1:01:49 PM |
Senez All American 8112 Posts user info edit post |
He used the driver on 16 and drove into the 17th fairway is what i heard.
Today, he holed it out on his second shot. Three bounces and in.

They should just call the tournament. There is no way Tiger, as locked in as he is, doesn't win this. He's no Mickelson. It's in the big.. 7/21/2006 6:26:20 PM |

man I hope Tiger is back for good, looks like hes gotten away from the power game that ruled him for so many years and now he is back to accuracy and putting like he used 2 be. The man can work magic with a putter I tell you what...good to see those two at the top though, Els is looking awful good as well.
Way to go Tiger, I hope ur back to make the 18 mark 7/23/2006 1:26:25 PM |
