you can use open office and save/export as a pdf, that's what i've been using for 2 years or so

one would have to assume he's trying to fill in forms that are distributed in pdf format on a computer, rather than print and do by hand. if that's correct, there are a few hackjobs out there, but seldom is the export 100% correct (pdfs aren't just plain postscript containers anymore). if you just want to create a pdf, check out cutepdf, it works just like the distiller printer driver7/26/2006 12:19:16 AM |

I don't use acrobat to create pdfs from word documents, there are many free/better programs to do that. I don't really have a need for the full version but I'm well aware of it's capabilities. acrobat pro (for the most part) adds pdf as a recognized document type for the normal editors/productivity suites on your machine and making it just as easily manipulated as a .doc file. there are other features like locking, encrypting, etc, but they're just "extras" 7/26/2006 5:37:44 AM |
