Does anyone know how to make there own cell phone ringer download page? I don't want to pay $3 for a ringer when I can make my own. I know there are sites like Mixxer.com that let you upload your own files to download. Can I do this without having to go thru Mixxer? I've been playing with it and have been unable to download a link that I access from a website on my phone that I made. Any ideas? 7/25/2006 1:10:33 PM |

i tried this research a month ago with mixed results
i tried a program called BitPim and it uses a usb cable to the phone. i could transfer everything but ringers. i didn't finish researching it cause i got fed up.

if you are still a student as your profile says you can just use the webspace the university provides. do a search on ncsu.edu to find out how to set it up. the website will be www4.ncsu.edu/~username/whatever.mp3

^ I have a website setup. It won't let me download that easily. Says requested pape can not be displayed. There is something to do with the language that cell phones read. XHTML or something. I don't know.

I bought a $10 usb bluetooth adapter. just clip your songs and send them over. Much easier to do it this way.

no blue tooth for me :-( I did make some kind of discovery...if you go to http://www.google.com on your phoen it brings up a different website than the one you go to from you computer's web browser. But, if you add a /xhtml to the end of the address you get the mobile phone website. I tried saving this site and edditing it but alas, no go with the downloading still. I'll keep at it. 7/25/2006 1:46:35 PM |

what kind of phone is it? what you want to do might not even be possible if your phone is old enough that its browser cant display your webpage.
[Edited on July 25, 2006 at 2:29 PM. Reason : ^i think the google mobile will edit the sites, try pulling up your site through google] 7/25/2006 2:28:30 PM |

I have the Sanyo 8100 from Sprint. I have the USB cable for it but I don't have the software to link up my phone and computer. 7/25/2006 3:58:30 PM |

i used polyphonic wizard to make a couple of ring tones last summer and it worked well for me. of course it is only free for like 15 days or something, so after that 15 days is up you can't run it anymore and uninstalling it/reinstalling it does not take care of that problem...although i'm sure there is some way around it 7/25/2006 4:58:37 PM |
