Try burning directly from disk utility or the finder. If that doesn't work, try changing your media. If that doesn't work you probably need to get the lense for the laser cleaned. 7/31/2006 5:08:06 PM |

^ what he said.
that's an unusual problem. what type of media are you using? old/new imac? (not especially new considering the OS version, but still)

I'd try burning w/ different media first, I've only known 1 person to ever have that problem and he was using shitty CompUSA brand CD-RWs 7/31/2006 7:14:16 PM |

Your problem is probably a buffer under run error. This is either a HW failure, and the drive is screwed, or one of your song files is missing or corrupted. Try burning a different set of songs, or just a single song to see if it will even burn. Try burning from the Finder to see if it will burn. If it WILL burn, then it's probably one of your files is bad. Try manually converting them to AIFF files within iTunes, then burn those AIFF files. If that doesn't work, a 3rd party burning program might do the trick (you might want to try this first if you don't want to home in on the actual problem). Try searching VersionTracker for a 3rd party burner... i'm sure one exists that can do audio CDs. 7/31/2006 9:16:57 PM |

Create a new play list. The restriction is on the play lists not the actual song files. 8/1/2006 12:01:16 AM |

^^^Easiest way around that problem is to rip the songs off the CD that you already burned and then the copy protection is gone and you can do whatever you want with the newly imported songs. There will be a tiny bit of degradation, but nothing noticeable for most ears.

just make direct AIFF copies of the CDs you've already burned, no quality loss. 8/1/2006 2:32:40 AM |
