I'm trying to find a really funky hair stylist in the Raleigh area. I've been going to Van Davis Aveda in Winston-Salem, but that is getting ridiculous. I have a short haircut with blue and purple streaks, so I need someone who can give me a more funky style and color (not your typical hair salon in the mall). Anyone have any suggestions?

based on this thread, miska and I went to the design gallery, and were VERY pleased. as for this 'funky' you speak of...I think you'll find them satisfactory.

If my stereotypes are correct, just find some gay guy.

I know guys who run a place on Glenwood South caddy-cornered from the Mellow Mushroom. Apparently they were rated #1 in Raleigh by consumers.

aw i was going to suggest http://www.myspace.com/chameleonstudio too. she's a color specialist and she's very professional. i would say tell her i sent you because then i'm one person off from getting a free haircut but someone beat me to it haha

she is a really sweet girl and i always love my haircuts from her
she is also really good about emailing me when she is having specials on cuts/color which is nice since i am a broke college student
