Since we're all young, wealthy, and probably still don't give a damn. How are you going to use your vacation time?

You can post something you want to do in the future or something worth mentioning that you've already used vacation time for.

I'm trying to plan a backpacking trip in Alaska or in Europe.
Maybe a cruise in the near future.

Right now I only get 10 days a year, plus holidays. However once I've worked over a year (5 weeks away) I I'll have 15 days of PTO.

This past year I've taken off one day for Thanksgiving, 1 1/2 days for a skiing trip, 6 off for a trip back to NC/SC, one for a deep sea fishing trip, and a few for a bachelor party and wedding (next month). And maybe another one for Homecoming at NCSU.

I'm don't have a significant other so I don't see the point of going on a vacation to the islands, etc. by myself, lol. I'm pretty satisfied traveling around the country to visit friends and whatnot.

i took almost 1.5 weeks off in may for my parents lake house and my sisters graduation.

i am taking a couple days off in 3 weeks for camp bisco.

then ill take a couple days off for the thursday nite football game in october

i have to save 2 days for our 2 week shut down in december.

...and then hopefully ill have a few to carry over for next year.

I get 40 hrs vacation and 40 hrs PTO, after my 2nd full year (2007...so i'll receive in 2008) i get 80 hrs vacation and 40 hrs PTO...then every five years after that i get an additional 8 hrs.

SO...this year i've been skiing, ACC tournament, Boston to see a friend, took a day off when I was moving, I'm going to Cape Hatteras Labor Day weekend and taking off that friday and tuesday, and then in October I'm taking a half day on a Friday for a wedding. After that I think I'll have about a day left over since the rest of my hours I was either sick or had Doctors appointments...and with all the time we get off with holidays anyway, I'll probably save it b/c we get rollover as well.

Next year my friend is already planning her 25th bday being in Vegas so I gotta keep that in mind, but otherwise I'll probably do a bunch of small trips over long weekends like I have this year.

and most of the time if i'm taking a half day i'll compensate by doing flex time that week.

15 vacation days - and i think 4 personal choice holidays

i travel for work every week so instead of coming home i can have them fly me somewhere else for the weekend - so i spend a decent number of weekends away from home at various places

nothing too big this year planned though so far - maybe europe around xmas - last year did a cruise and spent a week at my parent's lake house - the rest of the days were just random friday/mondays off

next year 2 weeks is going to wedding/honeymoon and the rest probably will be used to extend holidays to a little longer

I'm planning a long weekend in Seattle in Oct, going to Philly for new years (perhaps) or NYC (perhaps) or somewhere cool (def!). Going for a long weekend skiing/snowboarding in Jan/Feb, going to WMC in Miami (long weekend) in March (perhaps) and a week/week and a half in the UK/France/Italy (Italy = perhaps) next June/July

other than that, perhaps taking half-days if I want to take a weekend trip somewhere, doing flex time during the weeks as well to make up the hours and get my stuff done. I get 10 vacation days per year for the 1st 2 years, goes up after that but I've got a ways to go (about 23 months ).

Ditto on the TKE-Teg sentiment, no sig. other so I'm quite happy traveling around the country to visit friends - instead of traveling across the pond to visit my sig. other. There's so much I haven't seen in the US yet and so many people it's been years since i've seen - keeps me busy!

Took a road trip through New England at the end of May and just got back from Chicago. Heading to San Francisco in October and Europe over New Years.

If you ever think of leaving most places will give you your earned vacation as a couple paychecks. I can rollover my vacation up to 2.5 times. So right now I have 105 hours.

I'm burning up my 2 weeks vacation this month in Hawaii as well...going to Kona to celebrate my honeymoon! First vacation for me in like ever, can't get here soon enough!

Next year I'm taking 1 week for snow-skiing, 1 week to visit back to the Outer Banks, and I might buy a week for something else.

i'm another in the no sig. other category, but i don't have really have any friends spread across the country. i don't see the point of going somewhere by myself, so i might take a long weekend over christmas, but that's about it. so far i've had to work every holiday this year except july 4th, but i worked the 3rd. usually i end up giving most of the time back at the end of the year. (never had a job where they pay out unused time or carry over to the next year).

I'm leaving Aug 27th & returning Sept 9th

Staying at a resort condo in Kona, going to travel via car to Hilo and other places on the Big Island, but have no plans to visit any other islands on this trip. We'll need a lot of chill time anyway, considering the nature of the trip

I can work flex time and comp time, so I do that for all my little days off here and there. I'm banking up my vacation days. I get 2 weeks a year, so at the end of next year I'm going to take a month off and do NOTHING.

Might hit up Europe or somewhere tropical or maybe Africa. Depends on my mood.

15 vacation days 12 paid holidays

I've been to Philly a bunch, Vegas twice, Atlantic City, New Orleans pre 911, Bahamas

Once I've saved up some cash I'll probably go on another cruise and a few years out hopefully Australia and maybe Japan a few years after that.

they just announced a merger monday, so my vacation time is being planned until dec 31 2006.

perhaps taking the friday before labor day off, perhaps 2 days in oct, that's it aside from xmas though.

24 vacation days plus 12 sick days a year.... I burned most of my regular vacation this year by taking 2 weeks off this summer to just sleep, go to the beach, go out in the boat, go fishing, etc. It was great

I've been using 4-day weekends to go to Roatan in Honduras. Dive 3x per day on the 2nd largest natural reef, hit the bars by night, repeat as necessary (Just don't overdo the bar before you dive). With hotels on the beach at $50/night, and each dive at $20 each to include equipment, it's not a bad deal.
