We're getting to the point of sending out a monthly newsletter about our little expedtion down the Mississippi River. Up till now, I've sent out things via our gmail account, which sucks in many ways. What I'd like is a service that'll let folks subscribe/unsubscribe, send out an HTML newsletter, purge dead email addresses, etc.
We've got about 600 folks on our mailing list now, and hopefully will be ramping that up once the book drops this fall and I get back into doing the speaking / slideshow gigs again.
Any suggestions?

blogs are pretty trendy these days. plus, it would meet all your requirements (at least in the sense of the blog equivalent of email mailing lists). you can get one free at http://www.wordpress.com

We've got a blog on the website already, but i end up using it more to post article samples and other bullshit that comes out of my head. Basically I want to use this as a marketing tool as much as anything else. The blog sorts of feeds the newsletter in a way, but I know I don't get the same exposure from just looking at the web stats.
I'm actually double-dipping by running the same blogs on my myspace page. I've been really surprised by the hits and feedback that thing has gotten.
Thanks for the suggestion though. I do appreciate it. 8/3/2006 11:45:51 PM |
