This is for open-ended discussion on cycling in NC, mainly road but it can include off-road.
I'm looking for helpful experiences/tips about different trails in NC and different meet-up groups (could be outside of NCSU) there are/if you're a part of any.
I'm trying to find out as much as I can about cycling in this state, about the best trails.

nah i've only done a few closest to my house, Bent Creek to Crabtree and then Bent Creek to Lassiter Mill...and only a few times.
i'm new to this whole biking thing but it was the best idea getting a bike for additional exercise...i've enjoyed going out on the few rides i've done.

additionally, decent off-road trails are somewhat hard to come by in Raleigh.
there are some near Falls Lake and also some in New Hill near Shearon Harris

Check some of the local bike shops and their websites... most have free classes and bike routes as well as group rides from beginner up through team competitive levels.
REI usually has good maps as well of the local area and there are several groups that you can ride with for 30-50-100 miles on weekends. 8/9/2006 7:52:01 PM |
