i hit the power button and nothing happens.

i don't want to fix it because i have a new one coming anyway, but i'd like to get the shit off of the hard drive (which i'm assuming still works)... can i stick the drive into another computer and copy/paste what i need to the main HD in the computer?

it's likely just a power supply failure, but if you didn't want to replace that ...

you can either get a 3.5 inch external hard drive enclosure http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/Subcategory.asp?Subcategory=92 or just put the hard drive straight into the new box when you get it. both of those options will allow you to get your info off the drive.
