this is one i picked up at best buy before i realized running custom firmware on v5's was a pain
I dont want to deal with the roundabout way of flashing
let me re-assure you that the firmware on this is the original as recieved oem
it has never been reflashed
works great
i have no need for it, i use a different router for my network

whys the firmware install such a pain?

oh, and can anyone say for sure the firewall on the custom firmware is more effective than the standard one?

Installing custom firmware on the v5 is a pain because it runs vxworks

it is not hard, but I dont want to deal with it, it has been replaced by a v4 already

I'm pretty sure the firewall is not significantly different
but running DD-WRT or otherwise allows you to
have a lot more control over a number of things which most people do not need
