I had 214N with Hamlett. Hands down, the worst class I have ever taken. The material covered was somewhat interesting, but the required reading was incredibly dry. Hamlett knows his stuff (and is a fairly prominent person in the STS field), but he is an arrogant prick. Keep in mind that this was 214N which was an experimental class at the time (~25 people, more interaction than the larger lecture), but every single person in my section wished they had dropped it.

Hey volcom Im signed up to take sts 302 with tavakoli this fall. I am just taking it to meet the financial aid requirement for full time hours, but if you want I will give you some feedback on the class periodically throughout the semester. If your like me, you probably took an intro class in a certain major, in your case sts, found it to be interesting, and noticed it would only take an extra 2 classes to minor, or in your case an extra --- classes to major. Dont pay attention to the stuff some of these people say on the wolfweb. PM me if you want a copy of the syllabus for sts 302 with tavakoli and I hope your semester goes well. Andrew
