WolfTech, the information technology division of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is looking to fill openings in both web and computer support positions.
For our web branch, we are looking to fill the following positions:
Note: All positions currently available require a Work-Study appointment from Financial Aid. For more information, please visit: http://www7.acs.ncsu.edu/workstudy_jobs/workstudy_info.htm
WebTeam Scripter Assist the WolfTech webmaster in the creation of presentations for the World Wide Web. Applicants should be able to layout web pages using a text editor or Dreamweaver. Ability to manipulate graphics using Fireworks, or Photoshop a plus.
WebTeam Coder Assist the WolfTech webmaster in the creation of interfaces and presentations for the World Wide Web. Applicants should be able to write HTML, MySQL, queries and PHP scripts using a text editor or Dreamweaver. Ability to manipulate graphics using Fireworks, Flash or Photoshop a plus.
Content Creators and Writers The WolfTech WebTeam seeks individuals that have a passion for writing and/or know how to gather information related to technology and science education. No previous experience is required, applicants must have a good work ethic and good writing skills.
Videographers and Editors The WolfTech WebTeam seeks individuals that have a passion for video production and/or editing video. No previous experience is required, applicants must have a good work ethic and good writing skills.
The WebTeam works out of Engineering Building II, so this is a great opportunity for those of you who are ECE/CSC students since you could come to work for hours right after you get out of your classes without having to travel. The positions are not limited to just ECE/CSC students, though (I started working here as a Communication major, for example). Also, a lot of the scripters that come in here know very little initially about general web development/PHP/MySQL/JavaScript/etc., so if you're looking for job in the field, but are still learning or want to learn more, this is a great opportunity.
If you have any questions about the WebTeam positions, feel free to shoot my a PM or post in this thread and I'll answer them as best as I can.
If you want to apply, you'll want to contact Margaret Hudacko at huck@ncsu.edu

Sadly, right now we're not in the position to hire anyone who isn't a Work-Study student, though if you want, you can always try going and bugging financial aid to see if they can do anything or you can just send your resumé in and ask us to hold onto it if any positions open up. 8/25/2006 1:19:03 AM |

If you can find some way to get a workstudy appointment after graduating, then by all means, apply.

^^^ isn't that kinda...dumb? or are these jobs that were created, not out of actual need, but an excuse to give out money? 8/30/2006 10:36:58 PM |

We need people for the positions. The issue is the federal government pays workstudy students, whereas if the person were hired outside of the program the department would have to pay them. 8/30/2006 10:58:56 PM |

No one who is as big a winner as you, obviously.
But we've got a lot of great employees and are looking to expand.8/31/2006 12:49:33 AM |
