(RAZR phone, obviously) Also, it sometimes decides not to go off, for example, my and my suitemate's phone didn't go off at 6:30am. Know why?

make sure your alarm sound isn't set to vibrate or something similar, you actually have to set the alarm sound for every new alarm set... but that's just one thought, the other is make sure your ringer isn't set to "all off"... other than that i have no clue. 8/27/2006 11:07:51 PM |

When you plug the phone in it automatically reverts to the "Loud" setting for the ringer. Make sure you don't have the volume all the way down on Loud. 8/27/2006 11:42:02 PM |

I've tested it and made sure, whenever a RAZR phone is plugged in (charging) the alarm WILL NOT go off. ever.
This morning it refused to go off also, unless both I uncounsciously turned it off and my roommate didn't notice it through his head phones. However, I then tested it and it did go off. 8/28/2006 5:05:47 PM |

that sucks
i guess the phone is too thin to be able to do simple things when plugged in 8/28/2006 5:26:48 PM |

i learned the hard way that if the alarm is set it'll go off even if the phone is on vibrate-- you have to set it to all off if you dont want the alarm to go off
for example mine goes off every night at 10:30 as a reminder to take my medication (haha sounds cliche) and sometimes i'll be in a movie and put it on silent and that shit will start going off!!
i've never had a phone that did that before, but i usually charge my phone when i get home from work and unplug it before i go to bed so i've never noticed the alarm issue before while its plugged in.. 8/28/2006 6:45:09 PM |

My Moto E815 also sets its alarm type independent of the mode you are currently in. The mode you are in when you create the alarm determines the type of alarm you will recieve. You can change it manually afterward. 8/28/2006 8:36:10 PM |

Ok so it works when on a charger when it feels like it and I personally think you are an idiot of no help. I'm still wondering if anyone else has had trouble with a razr alarm not working, I did a google search and found more ppl saying the same thing. There's certainly enough ppl at State who have one to warrant asking on a more local level. 8/28/2006 10:44:38 PM |

There's also separate generations of RAZR's, I have the Vc3 I believe. 8/28/2006 10:45:21 PM |

post some links of people having similar problems - preferrably a link to a discussion about the problem
this is a problem that would have MORE THAN LIKELY been tested and wouldn't have made it to the final version of the software - you could have a defective unit though....
asking on a local level should get you the same answers on a national level - so far we have one person saying his works and nobody backing up your story 8/28/2006 10:58:15 PM |

Well my suitemate's phone failed to go off this morning, his phone set to 8:05, and yester-morning I set it to go off 6:55 and my regular clock at 7:00. I woke up at 7:00. I'm going to experiment tomorrow morning by setting my clock at 6:55 and my phone at 7:00 so I can watch the phone and be sure.
We both got our RAZR's within a week or two of each other during the summer from Altell so the entire batch may be bad...somehow.
Anyway, it appears no one who reads these boards has trouble with a RAZR, so thanks for your time.

i have a razr...i have had that problem only a few times, but not all the times. i guess it depends on what the phone feels like doing. 8/30/2006 8:12:01 PM |
