Lowe has certainly been impressive as far as media and fan relations, thats for sure- the one thing herb never was.

And while this is cool, I have never heard Vitale say anything bad about any coach. He wrote several of these things about Herb as well.

^^ Herb was a media favorite (nationally and locally) up until near the very end.. I imagine the fans were quite happy at first too...

Lowe has had no problem adjusting to his new challenge. He has formulated an outstanding staff with about 100 years of basketball experience. Larry Harris remains from the Herb Sendek era and he brings a wealth of knowledge and familiarity with the NC State program. This will be his 22nd season as a collegiate assistant coach. Monte Towe was a vital part of the Wolfpack history and he gained experience as the head coach in New Orleans. Remember how Towe teamed with David Thompson to lead NC State to the national championship in 1974. He also played two seasons in the ABA under Larry Brown, a very good coach in his own right! Peter Strickland played at DeMatha and was the head coach at Coastal Carolina for seven seasons. Quentin Jackson was a starter on NC State's 1987 ACC tournament championship squad. He'll contribute as director of basketball operations. Lowe was smart to put together a group that can provide all sorts of basketball information. They will be familiar with the NCAA rules. The new head coach said he is excited and thrilled to represent his university. He has a love affair with the alumni. The staff is working hard to bring in new players and recruiting has gone well. I can tell you that Mr. Lowe is a class act. When I mentioned to him the President's Club with the Jimmy V Foundation, which entails a five-year commitment, Lowe gladly accepted a role. My friends, he cares about people. Lowe helped N.C. State win the championship under Jimmy V. He also played for a Hall of Famer at DeMatha in Morgan Wooten. I spoke to people in the NBA and they said Lowe had a great basketball mind. His record in the pros was very misleading because of a lack of personnel. State athletic director Lee Fowler appears to have hit a home run. He has a guy with tremendous enthusiasm and energy. Even though I have mixed feelings about Dick Vitale, to one day hear him say on tv, "oh baby they're gonna be partying on Hillsborough St. tonight," would make my day, b/c it would more than likely coincide with a championship of some sort.

Clearly he not a 1st rounder yet because he is raw and undeveloped. But the fact that he is almost 7 foot now (according to news saying that he's grown some more this summer), has continued to bulk up, and can shoot/pass decently, he could translate into a decent prospect just because of his physical size and basic fundamentals.

It is hard to find 7 footers who can reasonably step out and shoot threes and FTs. Obviously Brack needs to work on his inside game/rebouding/defense if he ever really wanted to try the NBA. If I were him, I'd focus on baseball because he'll have a much better chance to make $$ as a baseball player seeing the way 1st rounder get signing bonuses etc. Plus its a hell of alot harder to get drafted in the NBA anyway.

we had tons of people in Reynolds watchign that game...campus wouldve exploded

But.....if you do get drafted by the NBA it's a hell of alot easier to make a team.

i dont think hillsborough has been crazy in terms of bball since les left and for football since we beat GT in OT here.

OK, I understand what you are saying. But from what I have been hearing, Brack wont have any trouble at all being drafted by MLB. So, he may be in a perfect posistion to do both considering how talented he is at baseball/bball.

I have not heard much of NBA potential yet, but if you observe the white guys being drafted these days, it's tall talented dudes with good hands and a nice stroke. Brack fits well in this category becuase he is not a player that is confound to the post. He may have a decent shot, but he will have to improve from last year.
