i dunno buy my d'max blows black smoke whenever I get on the fuel really heavy... but not typically when doing day to day driving... but i'm not sure if the powerstroke has enough power to do that without being under any kind of load... but on the other hand if you love burning fuel just lay hard on the pedal, you might get a whisp... just as long as you know that black smoke = incomplete combustion of the fuel, aka wasting fuel...

no... typically, a tell tale sign that a diesel has been modded is a thicker than stock smoke cloud from the tailpipe. the thicker the cloud=more power ( very generally speaking). so the fact this kid wants some extra smoke without doing any mods is like a ricer with a fart can to me... trying to look/sound fast but isn't.

^^dp right here in nc has about the hottest powerstroke chip around right now from what i've heard. that's what i plan to get to replace my outdated banks, but i;'m going to have one custom burned to match up with the rest of my mods.
^yeah, he's got it turned up some... but he's also been known to dump some waste oil in it before (something you can get away with on an older mechanical engine).

AC season is coming to an end, so most windows will be down...especially driver side. I don't care who's faster, I just get a kick out of blowing soot into bowls of riceroni. You'll usually find me in the far left lane at most stop lights for this very reason alone. Always good for a laugh or 12.

lol, this reminds me of my friend in highschool who had a government surplus Caprice (ex police car). The CHPD shields were spray painted over and the odometer would glitch between like 120k and 250k all the time. Needless to say we abused the shit out of this car.

Occasionally the check engine light would come on as well, not that it was of concern with such a shitbox. But whenever it did it was a sure bet that if you floored it you'd emit a huge thick cloud of black smoke. Anyway, he'd get some cyclists occasionally with that cloud....
