Game Date/Time: Sat. Sept. 23 kickof at 6pm (which means after the game in Baton Rouge, I can go to my hotel and take in the BC and NCSU game..SWEET!)
This weekend's Saturday 6pm match-up will feature D-1AA juggernaut Southern University against up and coming D-II powerhouse North Carolina Central University. Key players for Southern is SWAC Offensive Player of the year-whoever the hell their QB is, and Key players for NCCU, is Oregon State transfer and Redshirt Freshman Quarterback who is avg. 200 plus yards and 2 TDs a game, Charles Futrell(WR)-who is avg. 80 yrds. receiving a game, and Greg Pruitt, who in three games is averaging 105 yards rushing a game, and Brandon Gilbert (DII-Pre Season All American Punter/Kicker) is avg. 49.5 yards a punt and 7.5 pts a game.
This is the first meeting between Southern University's storied football program and up and coming, moving to D-1AA next year North Carolina Central University Eagles. NCCU is ranked as high as #4 in the country in some DII polls and as low as #12 in the AFCA poll. This is NCCU's first road game of the season.

Any particular reason for posting? I highly doubt many T-dubbers like in Baton.
But anywho, GO PACK, and um, NCCU! 9/20/2006 7:47:46 AM |

Just giving my graduate school so long, since for the longest time I was constantly comparing my football game day experience to my undergrad experience at NCSU.
once, I stop comparing the two- I was finally able to 'actually' enjoy the game, (eventhough i missed the Wolf Howling at Carter Finley, the jumbo tron, the 55,000 plus fans acting b4, during and after the game...
once I let it sink in I was 'not' at NCSU anymore, i started to enjoy's NCCU's kick ass band, and when I realized they had an above avg. football program...I was like, "well Ill be damned"-they actually have some talent, and then by the CIAA Championship last year and the last second loss in the playoffs to North Alabama last year I was hooked on NCCU Football..so just sharing the game day experience for people like myself who knew nothing about a strong football program from an HBCU.
-I purchased tickets and flight stuff to Baton Rouge for the game this weekend, for those of you who have been to Baton Rouge, where are the hot spots and where are the places to stay away from? 9/20/2006 8:38:16 AM |

I will actually be in Baton rouge that weekend for the LSU v Tulane game. A buddy is an alumni and got us tickets. There are two pretty cool places in downtown baton rouge that I went to a few weeks ago for the same buddies wedding. The Roux House and Happy's Irish pub are across the street from one another on 3rd street downtown and are totally worth checking out. have fun man Baton rouge is a great town. We had some much fun at the wedding we planned this trip to go back! 9/20/2006 9:02:16 PM |

I'm suprised that people would be interested for the game. I would think people would be more interested in the halftime show. 9/20/2006 9:03:44 PM |
