Seriously everyone is tired of waiting in this fucking ridiculous hour long line.
Some people have classes or work (not me of course) and this is a totally ridiculous process.
If there is only going to be one line can we please charge $10 apiece for these things and just eliminate all the hassle? 9/21/2006 11:59:46 AM |

I think those who have been to the lower level games should get precedence over those who are just going to the big ones. The past 2 games, I walked up at 10:40 and was in a line of only 10 people. This time, there were probably 100.
And why the hell is there only one person doing distribution? Hell, if help is that scarce, I'd be happy to open up another booth. It's rediculous. 9/21/2006 12:25:55 PM |

dude there was way more than a 100. I was waiting almost at the bookstore.
i got there at 10:11 and had a parking permit at 11:08
This is fucking stupid, charge $10 minumum for these things and decrease the line by 50% and everyone will be happy.

I got there around 10:45 and was in line for about 45minutes. After 11:40, the line slacked off a lot though. 9/21/2006 12:31:58 PM |

they should throw parking passes outside the ticket office and let people fight over them 9/21/2006 2:07:43 PM |

I don't think charging for them is a solution....maybe if they made more of them since the lot is always only half full anyway. Charge $10? I hope that is a joke. 9/21/2006 2:20:11 PM |

They could just not have passes altogether & just let people into the lots first come, first serve, by showing their student ID. (similar to the way it works for basketball)
The lot actually gets filled & none of the BS to get a pass. 9/21/2006 2:25:04 PM |

i actually agree with this....10 bucks per pass for a group of 10......say you take 2-3 cars, thats only 2-3 bucks per person. 9/21/2006 3:12:28 PM |

they way they have ticket distribution and parking passes just sucks for the students
back in the day / you could get like 20 game tickets at a time as long as teh id scanned ohh those were the days
and there were no restrictions for parking / you could park almost anywhere you wanted 9/21/2006 3:16:40 PM |

they should just do it online, then just distribute to winners. or let us print them (though then theyd have to deploy scanners everywhere)
also....why was it that lot on the corner of blueridge and trinity was empty? did they not give out enough passes? 9/21/2006 6:11:48 PM |

Why? They already charge you through student fees. Just eliminate that as part of the fees and charge the people who want one $10. If you go to the game with 4 people that's only $2.50
If an hour of your time isn't worth $2.50 then I don't want knuckleheads like you in the tailgate lot in the first place.9/21/2006 6:18:40 PM |

parking at any NFL game in 20 bucks unless you park 2 miles away
I'd pay ten bucks over a long ass line anyday
I got to the front and asked the guy why there was only one line and he mumbled some bullshit about "other obligations"
What they should do is have an auction for them
The people who want them the most will pay for them and the broke motherfuckers can take the Wolfline 9/21/2006 6:30:38 PM |

even if you pay the ten to not wait, it's really only a max of 5, who rides to the game by themself? it's not a bad idea, but this is a university whose students complain about having one the most affordable tuitions in the country.
Now, do they have parking attendents at the fairgrounds lot upon entry, and at every entrance to the fairgrounds lots? Has anyone seen a tow truck out there towing because of no parking pass?? 9/21/2006 6:45:41 PM |

The problem that they see with this is the sheer number of people that come to a football game vs. a basketball game. The traffic is only ok right now, but if you have 9000 students trying to get into the lot, and it fills up, then you have 8500 students stuck in traffic unable to turn around or get off of trinity...it would create a backup for hours
and to clear some other stuff up...
I kinda like the idea for charging for parking passes. You really are getting a lot of free stuff considering any fee you pay for athletics isn't used on parking or tickets...and if we charged let's say 5 dollars per ticket, then we could use that to offset the fee for using your credit cards on the guest system, or to upgrade the experience in the lots...it could really be useful
and it won't ever be done online, because they don't like the idea of people being able to print/copy parking passes
and...the fairgrounds lot, for some reason beyond me, is kept half empty and then they let peopel in right before the game. I have never understood this, because parking in that lot is a pain in the ass. I have almost killed a few people, and I drive safely and slowly. The lady standing in the lot during the last game yelled at me for parking in a safe space after I passed a empty space in a more dangerous area. I don't understand why they police those of us that operate in a bounds of sanity and safety, but just laugh and ignore those that are drinking in the middle of a driving area. Keep yourself in your tailgating/parking space and everythign will be fine, but until people start doing that we will continue to lose privaledges as they relate to parking9/22/2006 8:44:15 AM |
