Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world. Wouldnt you think that similar problems would have arose such as those in the middle east. I have heard almost zero about problems in South East Asian and it confuses the hell outa me.

I might be mistaken, but I believe the majority of the Muslims in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries don't believe in as strict an interpretation of the Koran as do the majority in many Middle-East countries.

also they do carry out plenty of attacks...just most of them are attacks on countries other than the United States so the US media doesnt cover them as much

Islam is really a facility for social frustration. As Mcdanger pointed out in a thread awhile back, happy content people tend not to blow themselves up. Now there seems to be a correlation between a backwards society and Islam, and this highlights the need to reform Islam itself as well as Arab/Islamic nations.
