Depending on the the beer distributer, the deposit is either 10 or 20 bucks. 20 would definately be fair for any keg shell. I got mine for free, though, when I made my grill.

cant you read, dude? ^

shells are worth $10 dollars. there is no mark up, as NCSU will always be in the buisness of emptying shells, and keeping them, losing their $10 deposit. and then selling them for $5 cause they dun wanna move them. Remeber TWW = 50% OFF!

tripleD4u, yeah, my grill turned out great. I used a Sawzall to split it, which actually only used up 1 or 2 blades. I just got the rest of the parts from Burke Brothers and Lowe's.

I use an angle grinder and sand paper, works like a champ. 5 minutes. Hell of a racket tho.

plasma cutter was how mine was made. not i just beed to find someone that does sanitary food grade stainless steel welding. if anyone anyone knows someone that can/will do it for a reasonable price let me know.

--techinically forfeiting your desposit does not give you ownership if the keg. kegs actually cost $80-$100 new.

frhet how much, how often and how long have you been brewing? what do you typically brew?
