when i saw it i thought it was like when a rookie doesnt have a picture on a website, and it's just a team logo or a black silhouette 9/24/2006 8:26:39 PM |

If you don't let the linemen introduce themselves then nobody on the team should.
It's like telling the linemen they aren't as important as the other players. 9/24/2006 8:28:02 PM |

okay....what? The team doesn't allow the O-line to introduce themselves?? 9/24/2006 8:31:13 PM |

Yeah, you know how on MNF everyone tells their name and where they went to college?
The o-line just has pictures, and the announcers had to explain how the coaches don't let the o-line talk to the media. 9/24/2006 8:37:38 PM |

I think its more them not wanting to do it than the coaches actually forcing them not to... kind of like a pride thing 9/24/2006 8:42:47 PM |

dude have you been living a cave the last decade?
The Denver o-line NEVER talks to the media its a tradition they've had for a pretty long time now.
They were mad that they weren't given enough respect with regard to pro bowl votes/appearances.
It has nothing to do with the coaches or NBC.

This dates back to the season to the last time they made the Super Bowl in 1998. The whole offensive line gets together and there are set fines (that they self-impose) for any quote or anything in the media (print, TV, etc.). They then take all the money and throw an end-of-season party amongst themselves.
As far as I know, it was only broken once. The NFL forced the players to talk at Media Day for the Super Bowl in 1998.9/24/2006 10:22:20 PM |

^how do they get the money for a party if no one breaks the rule?
And a more awesome party doesn't sound like much of an incentive to not talk to the media. 9/24/2006 10:27:25 PM |
