I need some '54R, all of the same type (right now I have a grab bag of mixed ammo, heavy and light ball from different countries), preferably light ball.

And I need to be able to pick it up by Friday afternoon.

Anyone?

that shits expensive.... go to a flea market and haggle with someone over old mil. surplus rounds... You might have to clean the rifle realy well afterwards... and you might get a couple that wont fire but you'll save $texas.... Additionally, watch out for AP rounds if you are shooting on an indoor range.... I believe most all of the surplus is AP.

Steel-core isn't necessarily AP, actually.

And 150 rounds of '54R (or 8mm) usually won't cost much more than like $15, if you're using milsurp.

Heh...I have around 3000 rounds of this stuff. Czech light ball silvertip and Hungarian yellowtip heavy ball, along with some unpainted Polish light ball lead core stuff.
I'd be hesitant to sell any of it, but I know that Young Guns in Apex sells quite a bit of this, along with 8mm. Ed's in Southern Pines has it also.

Last I checked, AIM had the 440 round tins for less than $40 also.

Now is the time to stock up on this stuff, it wont be this cheap forever.

Young Guns fucking blows. I'm never stepping foot in there again.

I just split an order with a friend (we're stocking up on the Czech), the main thing is that I wanted ammo by the weekend. HOWEVER, place where I'm going requires you to buy ammo there (not too bad, since they carry surp; Clark Brothers', up in N. Virginia), so I guess this thread is moot.

What's wrong with Young Guns? I've always had pretty good dealings with them...

The bald fella that works in there can be a bit blunt sometimes, but if you can deal with that, he's very knowlegeable and helpful.
The fella that owns the place is cool as hell.

Pricing is nuts.

Wolf Gold in 8mm: $16/box??? (To make it downright weird, they had other Wolf Gold ammo, including 6.5x55 and .303 at like $12/box.)

Milsurp 8mm at 30c/round?!

FFS.
