Occasionally on my new laptop I will notice a dead pixel, but sometimes all seem to be ok. It seems to also change locations each time I notice it.
Not really sure what I am asking here. Is this something that I should worry about having repaired under warranty? Since it is not always there and changes locations from time to time, getting it fixed might be difficult. 9/30/2006 6:18:15 PM |

Cheezcurd, chances are that if you call the laptop's manufacturer, they're going to put you through a lot of troubleshooting routines before they'll consider replacing or repairing anything of that nature. For now, I'd encourage you to keep a log of when you're seeing these dead pixels. Where are they located, what programs you're running, any errors, etc.
Just for fun, I'd also suggest visiting the laptop manufacturer's website, to see if there are any video driver or mobo chipset updates, maybe even a BIOS revision. Shot in the dark, but it couldn't hurt to try that too.
If you can get a decent record of the problems, with specifics, it'll be harder for a phone support person at the company to brush it off. Just be more specific with them. Hope that helps. 9/30/2006 8:40:57 PM |
