I am selling my 91T in hopes of buying and racing an e30. Anyways the car has 203,000 miles on the chasis, and about 30,000 on the engine. I have a set of 93 wheels with R-compounds on them, and 6 91 wheels with azenis on them. The car has tokico 5-way adjustable shocks, stock springs, intake, tko 2.5 inch dp, 3 inch single exit magnaflow exhaust, mbc, Defi boost gauge, front addco sway bar, prothane bushings, ebay short shift kit, 2 sets of used carbotech XP8's and XP9 track pads, and an optional Cobra race seat. With a few unecessary items removed, the car currently weighs 2760 lbs wet without driver. In the right hands this is a FAST track car! Will trade for a beat up e30 that I can strip down and track and cash.

I've ridden in that car and its suprisingly quick and grips like a demon. It would be a great beater for anyone that likes track events but wouldn't want to risk their own equipment.

I am going to road race wheel to wheel, and there is no competitive or populated class with an MR2 turbo. There is however a class called Spec E30 with a bunch of competition.

I could take that mr2 with my 1997 del sol dohc vtec..... easy, and i wouldnt try to sell my car for a dime over 6000. are you seriously trying to get 9000 for that car, are you seriously even trying to get 7000 for that car? I bet that golf had you in that race......

^ I hope you are joking. A del slow beating an MR2, not a chance unless its heavily modified. I bet you think its badass since it has V attack. MR2's are fairly quick cars and handle pretty damn good. I am sure you can find someone to give you 7000 for it. Check ebay. They are becoming rare.

they are not any more rare than his b16 delsol

stock it's not worth more than $3000 and that's not even factoring in the 200,000+ on the body
aftermarkt parts for the most part do not add value to the car......

and btw that delsol is a good 200lbs+ lighter than his car and makes all it's power high in the rev range which is where you want it on a track.....so don't discount it so much

if makoff wants to make his money back, he should try to get as much of the car as possible back to stock and sell the rest of the parts on an mr2 forum

1. I never said 9000,
2. If you werent a fucking idiot you would know the golf and I werent racing, its called HPDE, you probably don't know what that means, but its basically a driving school on track.
3. I can guarantee if you take your super sweet JDM tight del sol on track I will embarass you with my MR2.

so basically, i'd still kill that mr2 turbo. It doesnt take an ammateur driving school on track to know that a 1991 toyota mr2 turbo is around 2750 pounds in curb weight, and pushing roughly 200 hp's if you rev it up to the point almost past redline. You couldnt bring your car down to the weight of a del sol (2190 lbs) unless you ripped out practically everything but your drivers seat and your racing pedals you probably bought at auto zone because you thought it'd make your car look more "professional racing" style and faster. my engine granted was pushing 170 hp's stock when it came off the block, until i put camshafts, cam gears, intake manifold, throttle body, headers, hollowed cat, cat back exhaust, and a greddy stage 3 T on it. The funny part is that my car's pushing around 310 horses right now, and i'd be scared to race you only because if i all out raced you, i'd probably be facing another snapped front passenger side axle because no matter what rating axles i put on my car, the horsepower always finds a way to break it. The even more funny part is that i could probably kill your piece of shit mr2 by granny shifting at 5,000 rpms if i just turned my vtec controller down a little bit in rpms. Dont call a sol a "del slow" unless you really know what you're talking about ammateur, you prob. wont be able to sell that mr2 for 7000 unless you find another mr2 worshiper like yourself who probably has sex mr2's when their owners arent looking, and he fails to notice the 200,000 on your chasis before he ups and wastes all his money on your stupid piece of shit.

Hey sounds like you have a sweet life dude. Front wheel drive is awesome btw. Have you ever driven your car on track? like a race track, not tokyo drift style in parking lots? I am not exactly an ammateur driver either, I am actually a qualified driving intstructor for NASA, PCA, and THSCC so maybe I could help you out, you sound friendly enough. Also this car is putting down around 220-230 to the REAR wheels, and with the current setup is usually a little faster than a bpu e36 M3 with a good driver around a track.

Man shit talking about how fast our cars are on the internet is badass!

hahaha--- first of all- if you re-read my post you will take note of the sarcastic/comical overtones... Secondly- Off the line or top end that "heavy ass V8" would tear up a decent chunk of vehicles including fuckin del sol- as far as handling- I would never even attempt to say that an LS handles better than a baby car like a del sol, miata, etc... However, I would say it is relatively clear that you have never driven an LS b4... They handle surprisingly well- not too far a stretch from my old vr6 and with the center of gravity where it is it handles far better than any other 4 door sports sedan I have driven. very comparable to a BMW 5 series

lol off the line? you do know there is no off the line in HPDE...you pull out of the pit and take a warm up lap then you can start driving hard as you pass the green flag...and by that time your heavy ass v8 would be a spec of dust in most peoples mirrors.

I love how (with the exception of NEON) everyone who has posted has less than 1000posts- lol

and yes- i am sure ur friend has a town car with crazy horses- difference is, LOOK At THE BODY OF THE LS FUCK STICK- it is not in any way shape or form a fuckin towncar or continental boat- it is a "sports sedan" with almost an identical body style as a BMW 5 series as previously stated.

I'm not really arguing anything other than for the fact that am bored. But anyone who says a Del Sol in a 1/4, 1/2, full mile run would beat an LS V8 (not the 6) is a fucking moron and has absolutely no clue what he is talking about-

as is someone who would say the LS is

btw: does your grandmas buick do 0-60mph in 6.42 seconds and have a top end (stock) around 142mph? no? The LS does- hahaha

and just on the comp. a Del Sol with a chunk of work is lucky to run 0-60mph in under 8sec. and (if the engine does fall apart first) will get up to 130mph top end.... downhill, on a 3 miles stretch-lol

here is my advice- b4 you decide to dive in and knock on someone or a vehicle you may want to research it so as not to sound like a fuckin moron- Had you typed in "Lincoln LS V8" into google you would have seen that since 2002 it has been one of the top rated vehicles in every category (handling, power, comfort, value, etc) by almost and automotive group or association-

I was responding to this claim. HP doesn't have a goddamn thing to do with handling. And the BMW 5 will eat your lincoln alive in any handling test and sure as hell on any track.

0-60 in 6.anything is not something to brag about. Hell Cadillac has options on nearly every model for under 5 second vehicles. That's when you can START to claim having a quick straight line vehicle.

Basically you would get eaten straight-line by a plethora of 4-bangers, and would get demolished on the track by about 1/2 the cars in the world.

Bump for you. Think I've seen you at a Tarheel event a while back. Good luck selling it here though. Anything over 20% of it's value is "too expensive" here. I assume you've posted it on tarheel/NASA/SCCA's fs forums? May try Triad's also if they still have it.

as for delsol boy, you're an idiot, sol vtec is 2560lbs. and a stock mr2 turbo is faster in all regards. modified, the sol needs much more work to be faster (straight or track). And yeah, I'm a former sol owner and guarantee I know more about them than you or anyone else on this board. PS, you're breaking axles because you're an idiot.

Lincoln boy, shut up about your damn Lincoln. It's a Ford, i.e. it's a POS. Please educate yourself and realize that it is in no way a "better" vehicle than a BMW (or even an Accord for that matter).

For those that are digging on his price, give him a break since he probably didn't realize that tww is full of people that paid $5 for their brand new car and everything else is too expensive. ANY car that an instructor drives is nearly guaranteed to be in excellent condition with a lot of thought put toward any modifications. All work performed is typically going to be better than your typical car seller as well. His asking price is a good deal for a car that has already proven to be safe, fast, and reliable on track. Go buy a $4k mr2 and you will spend a good bit to make it track worthy.
