you guys are just fishing with the last few posts. Williams and shane were great players. Jay was better but could not take over a game the same way JJ could.

JJ was just cold in the first half of the lsu game, then tried to drive against two great shot blockers and Duke stopped going to him down the stretch. I think if they gave him the ball at the end he would've came through.

I'm going to refer you to the 01 game at Maryland late in the season. Then I'm going to refer you to every other Maryland game that season (3 of them).

Then I'm going to refer you to every other game he played that season and in the 3 years he played at Duke and then tell me again that JJ is a better basketball player than Jason Williams. You will be wrong. JJ was a great pure shooter, but he was slow, he couldnt dribble, he didnt play D, and he sucked at the end of the season when it counted most. You cant say the same things about Jay.

I said williams was better. he was not just a great scorer. Jay was a great defender great pg and great leader. couldn't make free throws though.

I think JJ scored about 10 points in the last minute of the game at wake junior year. Came up a little short.

He WOULD have been the all-time scoring leader. Hell DT would actually be the all-time leader but he only played 3 years.

...by only jacking up 3's and usually doing it early in a game. He took over a couple late, but the only one I can remember that meant anything was against State in the 05 ACC tournament. And that wasnt really late, it was just second half.


I also prefer to think of this another way....

The number of games JJ blew because he could only shoot 3's and he went cold at the end so Duke lost. That number is way higher than the players we previously mentioned.

Sounds like he is doing pretty well for himself. He has more of a yourapee'in style game anyway. They play basketball. The NBA is all about who's faster, can jump the highest, and trying to get on a poster.
