parmesan cheese has become my favorite flavoring for almost every food. I think I've severly cut down on my salt intake as a result of it.

unfortunately, I love canned tomatoes in all my food and that's more than enough sodium intake for the day as it is.

I used to eat a lot of canned stuff and frozen dinners, now i tend to do my shopping on the outside of the store with the exception of cereal/oats and cooking/cleaning supplies

[Edited on October 26, 2006 at 7:19 PM. Reason : parmesian is awesome in eggs]

I'm thinking about going to whole foods to buy steel cut and whole oats and see how much different they taste or if I notice a difference in my fat loss, but I'm not sure if I want to spend that much money on oatmeal. Maybe I should go to a nicer grocery store and try to find steel cut oats in one of the cardboard cans.

I was under the impression that old fashioned or roled oats were not processed beyond steaming and rolling

it's not that the oats are lacking in any nutritional value; I've just read in a few places that rolled oats are digested faster and can make you feel hungry quicker after eating them. For some reason oatmeal doesn't seem to fill me up; I end up adding milk powder and tons of protein powder to it in order to kill my appetite.

My shrimp and grits recipe.

2 tablespoons real butter
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 and 1/2 cups instant grits
1 tablespoon texas pete or other hot sauce
1 oz cheddar cheese.
1 cup leftover fried or boiled shrimp

saute shrimp in butter, add chicken broth, bring to a boil, add grits, stir, add hot sauce, stir, add cheese, finally add cream and cook slowly for 20 minutes. Cooking time is much longer for REAL grits.

youre welcome.

The Ball Park hot dogs were delicious, but I realize now that I should get more beer.

Especially with tomorrow being Sunday and all.
