I worked contract at the RTP one right out of school. So I don't know the full inner workings of the company but I might have a bit of insight.

They're a chemical company. When my dad worked there, he worked on stuff like developing detergents, Foam-Core, Round-Up, and a few other things.

And after looking up Monsanto on Wikipedia, looks like they also made stuff like Bovine Growth Horomone, Agent Orange and the like.

Monsanto is a agro products company dealing in gm seeds, etc. I don't think you can call it a chemical company.

Considered one of the big five biotech companies (Monsanto, Dupont, Syngenta, Dow Chemical and Aventis). Have patented a LOT of things out there you probably consume but don't know about.

When you say knowledge of the company ... what exactly are you looking for? Pay? Benefits? Work Environment? Ideal qualities in a job candidate? Or what?

In case anybody is wondering what the references are to ... the big five have patented the living crap out of everything. Makes it difficult for smaller companies (or academic research) to do anything because of the $$$ of licensing.
