When I try to run eclipse I get the following error message:
"unable to access jarfile startup.jar"

Any ideas?

redownload and reinstall eclipse

I already did that. It didn't make a difference.

i really have no idea, but sounds like it's external to eclipse from what you say. could it be some problem with your external jdk?
