Been looking at authentic jerseys on eBay (maybe "authentic", who knows), but anyhow of course it says sizes are based on having enough room for pads. So does that mean if I wear an XXL in tshirts I should buy an XXL jersey, or should I go down to XL? I dont want to end up with something thats going to look like a short dress on me
Also has anyone had much luck on eBay? How are they able to sell them so much cheaper than NFlshop? 10/18/2006 6:27:09 AM |

my friend told me authentics are like 150 on ebay and the cheap taiwan type knock offs are like 80 bucks
i dont know how accurate that is, but i'm sure the same lower price for foreign products rule is still in effect 10/18/2006 6:36:32 AM |

A lot of popular (read NFL/soccer) jerseys on eBay are grey market, meaning that they're made in the real factory (usually in Singapore/Indonesia/Korea), but then not distributed through legitimate channels. That's why a lot of soccer jerseys on eBay are $12.99 and come in only one size, "between L and XL." If a jersey is a bit cheaper than NFLShop, you're probably getting a deal, but if it's $25-35 it's probably a fake. That's not to say that it's a terrible shirt; I have a fake 02-04 Manchester United shirt that's absolutely beautiful. With that said, it's pretty hit or miss going on eBay. Unfortunately, there aren't a whole lot of places around here where you can check out grey market stuff in person. Caveat emptor. 10/18/2006 6:43:56 AM |

search for "authentic (players name) jersey" and then look at the positive rating for the seller. I got a peppers jersey on ebay and it's the real deal 10/18/2006 9:36:22 AM |

Thanks for the info...yeah Ive been looking at ratings, but Im also aware that there are a lot of people on eBay that are just stupid and couldnt tell the difference if you showed them. Plus theres a lot of sellers that have 99%+ ratings but have 100+ negatives/week because they sell so much. I looked at some authentics that were BIN for $50...so maybe fake, but it did look legit.
Still wondering about this whole sizing thing... 10/18/2006 10:04:12 AM |

I wear a small/medium tshirt and bought a Packers medium replica jersey and the thing is huge. You'd probably be alright going with a size down. Worth case scenario, go to Finish Line/Foot Locker, try a jersey on and see what fits properly. 10/18/2006 10:25:07 AM |

yea i normally wear XL t-shirts and i got a L jersey, and it's just about right. i think i M would have been good enough, but the L is just more comfortable.
i think getting a jersey one size smaller than the t-shirt size you normally wear would be the thing to do, but like ^ said go try one on to see 10/18/2006 10:28:23 AM |

Yeah I have 2 "authentic" jerseys from ebay, one Peppers and one Rivers, I'm gonna look for a Torry Holt jersey too sometime in the near future. The Rivers jersey was $25 plus $12 shipping and the Peppers was something like $45, I bought it last year. And if they aren't authentic then they are certianly authentic quality.
^^ Good suggestion, my peppers jersey is way too big

they have some cheap "fake authentic" ones at Champs in Cary. It's like they stitched on a painted number, and they were charging 100 for it. The mesh wasn't even the same. the real authentic ones are like 250 in stores. 10/18/2006 10:42:58 AM |

i found someone out in san diego that sells authentics for $100. i should be getting mine in by friday or so. i'll let you know if it's a knockoff or not. if not, i'll give you her email address. from the looks of the photos, they look authentic. if not, they're still better quality than the $70 replicas, and just as good as the $120 "premier (eqt)".
all of you talking about having bought authentics for $30, $50 and such, are probably wrong about what you got. it's likely that you got a knockoff, and not an officially licensed, reebok-made jersey. the jersey i ordered was the cheapest i could find through 3 days worth of searching through various auctioning sites, classifieds sites, stores' websites, message forums, etc. and i'm still not 100% sure on it's authenicity.
note that there are three types of jerseys: replicas - $60-$70 for mesh and painted on numbers, logos, etc. premier (eqt)/"replithentic" - $90-$120 like the authentics, but only the number is stitched on. authentic - $200-$275 for what the players wear.

you can find some good stuff on eBay depending on the buyer
I got 3 Steve Smith jerseys (white, black, blue) for a total of $150...all authentic
also got a Spud Webb Mitchell & Ness Hawks jersey for like $60
as for your question about sizes, it depends on how you like your shirts/jerseys to fit
if you are in the 5'8" range, I would say a 48/XL
if you are in the 6'0" range, I would say a 52/XXL
if you are in the 6'4" range, I would say a 56/XXXL
course if you're really fat or something maybe go up a size haha 10/18/2006 3:23:52 PM |

im pretty sure mine is authentic from ebay
it was in the original plastic packaging, with original tags (Reebok On Field Authentic®)
48 = medium 50 = large 52 = XL

i just got my jersey. i believe it is 100% authentic. if it isn't, it's one helluva a knock-off!
again, she/they have jerseys from all the nfl teams. i'm not sure if they carry other sports. they're $100 a piece + shipping if you're outside the san diego area.
