Umm I disagree there buddy. There are 3 of us in this thread that have been Cardinals fans for a long time....just ask us about our opinion of Joe Torre when he doesn't have an all-star team to manage. 10/20/2006 11:00:48 AM |

The Tigers are gonna roll over the Cards
Carpenter might win his couple starts, Suppan will hold his own. Other than that the Tigers have much better pitching.
How many wins did the Cardinals have this year? 10/20/2006 1:05:15 PM |
kbncsufan All American 1504 Posts user info edit post |
^dude, you realize the world series is a seven game series, right?
the tigers cannot roll over the cards is carpenter wins two and suppan wins one. that would be 4-3 and it would come down to game 7.
i personally say the tigers in five. they just have to much going for them right now. 10/20/2006 1:11:52 PM |

I said might win not guaranteed to win. I don't think he'll win both starts and Suppan might not win any. 10/20/2006 1:15:46 PM |

I just quickly looked through the schedule and got these numbers so if they're wrong than feel free to correct. Interleague play this year:
Cardinals 5-10, including 4 wins over KC, the 2nd worst team in baseball, beating out TB by only 1 game. So a little simple math and that means that other than beating KC, they were only able to win 1 game against the AL teams they played. Extra note: They were swept for 3 losses by Detroit, the first of those losses with Carpenter pitching.
Tigers 13-2, dropping only 1 game to Milwaukee and 1 to Pittsburgh. 10/20/2006 1:28:40 PM |

Why would you say that? Both teams have very loyal fanbases, and the cardinals fanbase is especially big nationwide. I guarantee it will get better ratings than last year's White Sox-Astros10/20/2006 1:31:23 PM |

Your logic fails you.

Two years ago when the Cardinals won 105 games, they were 11-1 in Interleague play. That's right, 11-1. But look what happened to them in the World Series, they get blanked by the BoSox 4-0. The Cardinals also had losing records to the Mets and the Padres this year, but they still managed to get past them. I guess what I am saying is that you can pretty much throw regular season records out the window when it comes to the playoffs, because the playoffs are more unlike the regular season in baseball than in any other sport. I really think this will be a great series.10/20/2006 8:14:57 PM |
