"ACC: All Coaches Canned?
Here's what Swofford's got: a 12-team league in which as many as six coaches could change addresses.

North Carolina made the first firing of the season when it pink-slipped John Bunting (21) Sunday night. Larry Coker (22) looks to be on the way out at Miami. Chuck Amato (23) seems to slide back off the hot seat with every win and back onto the hot seat with every loss.Al Groh (24) hasn't won over anyone at Virginia. Ted Roof (25) seemingly hasn't beaten a I-A opponent at Duke since Mark Alarie was in school. The one guy The Dash doesn't think is going anywhere is Florida State's Bobby Bowden (26), no matter how many boosters write letters urging his retirement.

And then there's the chatter about Tom O'Brien (27) of Boston College, who could be in demand on the open market after another successful season at a place that does not reload. "

Fowler isn't going to fire him no matter how much the big money donors grumble, and he has too much ego to leave of his own volition.

We're stuck with chuck for a few more years folks.

^^^^ I agree.. BUT if unc-ch goes out and somehow lands a big name and gets things turned around in a year or 2 and Chuck is moving along at this same rate the heat will be on Fowler to do something.

^ nah, there's a much better chance of Fowler resigning or taking another job than him pulling the trigger on Chuck

ok, fantastic, he brought some facilities. now we're on the verge of our 3rd no bowl/toilet bowl game of the year. the facilities and hype he brought do not make him a good coach. He is nothing without Rivers here to make his ass look good.

He has been a tipsy bit down for the past 2 seasons. No big deal, look how many people we lost to the NFL. Not very many schools can say that. We had nearly an entire line go in the first round. He develops talent, he is probably one of the best recruiters on the east coast. He stays.

What more do you desire from a coach? Philip has been gone for 2 years now, what do you expect? Philip is gone, I wish peeps would get over him already!

what more than a .500 record do I desire from a coach?

are you serious?

A decent coach shouldn't need one of the best QBs in ACC history to be better than .500 over 2.5 years.

A+B=Chuck is not a decent coach.

College football success is not measured in # of NFL Draft picks.

You also fail to understand that we are in one (if not the) most competitive confs in the nation. On that note, im going to respectfully exit this conversation. Iv proved my point, now I rest my case.

haha.. the ACC, at least this year, is closer to being behind a mid-major then it is being ahead of any of the BCS ones (according to the Sagarin rankings).

In most years though it is the 3rd or 4th best...

Of course it is. No one is actually really arguing with him. Just laughing at his attempted trolls and stupidity.

The worst part is that the other fool, hnugyen or whatever is real..

I think if Chuck could find a good OC and stick with him, and find/develop a fairly good QB, then our program will stable out a bit and finish more like 2nd/3rd in the conf

^^for real guys...if we didnt have a fucking revolving door at each of our assistant postions we would def be in better shape then we are now.

Chuck will be here for a while and once we establish a decent coaching staff we will make it to the next level.
